Ways of Arriving to Inertial Sensors 2018
Lake Como is readily accessible to visitors from all over the world.
Most overseas visitors flying into Italy with an agenda to visit Lake Como will choose to land at Milan's Malpensa airport. This airport is roughly 25 miles south of Como town. Many major airlines fly into Malpensa airport, including Continental, Delta, USAir, British Airways, KLM, Scandinavian and many more.
After arriving at the airport, the options for getting to the Lake District are by train, or rental car.
Direct shuttle rides from the airport to the hotel will be available soon for reservation.
There is a train service from the airport. Get off at Saronno station, and connect to a train coming from Milan. The end of the line in Como is at Como Lago station which is right on the lake front. Buses to Bellagio, Menaggio and other villages on the lake, stop outside the station, and also the ferry pier is a short walk from there.
Como can also be reached by train using the Trenitalia service from Milan's Central and Garibaldi stations. These trains arrive at Como San Giovanni station. Buses leave from there too, and the lake front is a 20 minute walk (or short taxi or bus ride) from there.
How to get to Como from Milan-Malpensa Airport
**Direct shuttle rides from the airport to the hotel will be available soon for reservation.**
At the ticket office of the Malpensa Express train station, located at Terminal 1, underground floor, buy a ticket for the trip MALPENSA-SARONNO-COMO (10 Euros, one way). Two separate tickets will be issued (Malpensa-Saronno and Saronno-Como), which must be stamped before getting on the train.
For those landing at Terminal 2, a free shuttle-bus service connecting the two Terminals operates 24 hours a day, with departures every 7 minutes during the day, and every 30 minutes at night (from 10:45 p.m. to 5:15 a.m.).
Take a Malpensa Express train stopping in SARONNO (30-minute ride; please note that not all the Malpensa Express rides make intermediate stops between the airport and Milan). Get off in SARONNO and take a Trenord train to COMO (typically from track #2, 30-minute ride).
